Funeral services have not been set for Blackshear Assisant Fire Chief Leon Davis who was killed Friday in Hurricane Helene incident.
Davis, 69, was clearing debris when a tree fell onto the cab of a city truck, according to The Blackshear Times.
Due to the effects of Hurricane Helene, funeral services are incomplete at this time but will be announced as soon as they are available, the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home posted on its website.
Blackshear Fire Chief Bucky Goble said Davis was "a great guy" and his death is "just devastating."
Hours after Davis was killed, in rural Saluda County, SC, two firefighters also were killed in a similar incident while responding to a house fire during the hurricane.
