Murdo, SD, Firefighter Killed after Being Thrown from Rig While Responding

The 37-year-old Murdo firefighter, who has not been identified, was driving a tender (tanker) to a grass fire when it rolled over.

A Murdo firefighter was killed Saturday in an apparatus crash while responding to a grass fire.

The 37-year-old firefighter, who has not been identified, was ejected when the 1989 Ford tender veered off the road and rolled over, according to DRGNews.

The unbelted driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name will be released after the family is notified.
