PA Firefighter Dies Responding to Call

A Pennsylvania firefighter died Thursday while responding to a fire in Coal Township.

East End Fire Company Capt. Scott Dannheimer, of Shamokin, was found unresponsive in the cab of his apparatus and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, WNEP-TV reports.

The U.S. Fire Administration says the 53-year Dannheimer, who had dedicated over 25 years to the fire service, was performing after action duties when he collapsed.
