In addition to seatbelts being the primary occupant restraint system, ZF TRW has developed two different versions of frontal collision airbags for rear-seat occupants. One design is the ZF TRW Front-Seat Mounted Rear Airbag. This airbag is stowed in the back portion of each front seat. It deploys in an inverted “U” shape during a frontal crash to provide supplemental restraint for rear-seat occupants.
