Fire department infrastructure woes have been compounded by the need for modern facilities, according to NFPA's Fifth U.S. Needs Assessment. The Boston Fire Department recently opened their first new fire station in 30 years. The $23.5 million project replaced a 69-year-old building. Milwaukee re-named their fire department headquarters for the architect who designed the facility. Details for the 2022 Firehouse Station Design conference will be released month. We'll be gathering May 23-26 in Rosemont, IL. Stay safe!
