The Banana Ball League is just a few weeks away from starting their 2026 World Tour. The famous Savannah Bananas were the first team in the Banana Ball League but within a short few years, they have grown the league to six teams.

Last year, we saw Banana Ball make its debut in Major League Baseball (MLB) and National Football League (NFL) stadiums, along with some of the most iconic college sports stadiums.

The Firefighters were able to play in 10 different MLB stadiums in front of sold-out crowds. That was the case for every single game and tickets are incredibly hard to come by because of the growing passion and interest in Banana Ball. While every game isn’t sold out yet for the 2026 season, the organization does a lottery system that fans can enter and be selected to purchase tickets.

A 6-27 record in 2025 by The Firefighters reflected a shorter season compared to other teams in the league, but this year, they get to start at the beginning with the rest of the teams.

A 64-game regular season is on deck for The Firefighters that brings a variety of locations and stadiums across the United States. They will be playing in several of smaller Minor League Baseball stadiums throughout the season, but will still have bigger venues such as Wrigley Field, Comerica Park and Kinnick Stadium.

"With Wrigley, it's that old town feel that you just feel the playoff atmosphere when you get there," said new pitcher for The Firefighters, Jared Donaldson. "I'm definitely really excited for that, but we open the season at Florida State, and that's like an hour and a half from where I'm from, so that would be the closest I've ever played to home. I'll have a bunch of family there, so I'm really excited for that one, as well."

“I'd be lying if I said I wasn't already trying to plan things out for Wrigley Field,” exclaimed The Voice of The Firefighters Zach Staton. “There's just an aura and a presence about it.”

A lot of the smaller stadiums are going to be played throughout the Midwest, a region that lacks professional sports teams. It goes along with mission that the entire league wants to create fan connections and bring joy to everyone, while honoring the fire service.

“That's something we get to do in Banana Ball that I think is overlooked sometimes in other professional sports,” mentioned Bradford Webb, who pitches for The Firefighters. “That's something I never would have thought of in a million years, but there's been such a positive impact in my life, the team's life and hopefully in fans' lives across the country.”

A caveat with the smaller stadiums is that players and coaches get to participate in the Plaza Party hosted by the organization before and after every game. At the larger stadiums, they only participate in an autograph signing after the game and the Plaza Party before the game, but not every player and coach can attend.

“We get an opportunity to make more personal connections with each fan,” shared head coach of The Firefighters and retired firefighter of the Corpus Christi, TX, Fire Department Valerie Perez. “We're on a mission to create a billion fans. It used to be a million fans. We're raising that bar.”

A greater personal connection for Perez is her being able to return to her hometown during the 2026 season to showcase the team she has helped build from the ground up.

"In the same way that I get to honor firefighters across the country, going to Corpus Christi, it's going to give me a really unique opportunity to honor specific firefighters who've made major impacts in my personal life, as well as honoring the fire department that I worked for the last 10 years," said Perez. “All of my family and all my wife's family is from there, so going back home and bringing Banana Ball to that field is going to be something that's really special on a personal level.”

Last year, The Firefighters played in Yankee Stadium on Sept. 11, honoring those lives lost in the tragic event. While, they won't be playing there in 2026, the upcoming season brings more of a personal connection, not just for Perez, but for the organization as a whole.

"It was literally a dream come true for the vast majority of us to play in Yankee Stadium the weekend of Sept. 11, but we're going to have, I'd say, more of a personal run this year,” stated Webb. “We're planning some smaller stadiums that I'm really excited around the Midwest, where I think folks are lacking a little bit in sports, and the Firefighter Team is going to be able to bring that joy to them. That's something I'm really excited about.”

“I can’t wait for some of the places we're going to play in,” said Staton. “From going to Richmond and seeing the first MLB All-Star Jackie Bradley Jr. in his hometown, to going back to a place like Fargo, where my career started, that'll be a full circle moment.”

If all tickets get sold out for every regular season game, The Firefighters are looking at a total of 852,857 tickets sold for 2026.

“I remember in the City Selection Show that we had in October, when our time our turn came up to announce where we were going to play in 2026, I couldn't hear myself when I was announcing the team onto the field, because the fans were losing their minds so much,” recalled Staton. “Seeing the brand grow was a really cool thing.”
