Fire quickly engulfed a one-story home on Fort Worth's east side forcing crews to battle the fire from the exterior.

Fire quickly took possession of a Fort Worth home on Jan. 4.

Engine 4 arrived about a minute after crews were dispatched to the home in the 4200 block of Timberline Drive around 10 a.m. to report heavy fire from the rear of the one-story dwelling.

Engine 22 assumed command after laying a supply line and several handlines were deployed into the structure.

After Truck 14 ventilated the roof, heavy fire shot from the opening.

After 15 minutes, as fire engulfed the attic, command pulled companies out the structure for a defensive attack.

The fire was placed under control in 45 minutes.

Five engines, one truck, one squad and three chiefs responded to the fire.
