Firehouse shares recent fires from around the country.
New Orleans, Feb. 20, 2019—A fast-moving fire spread through an 8,700-square-foot mansion in the Garden District neighborhood. Firefighters commenced an interior attack, but flames quickly spread through the three-story Queen Anne-style home built in the mid-1800s. Over 80 firefighters responded and used handlines from the ground and nearby rooftops, along with aerial master streams to contain the fire in six hours.

Fort Worth, TX, Jan. 24, 2019—Two dozen firefighters battled an intense fire in a one-story home on the city’s east side. Heavy fire had already engulfed the rear of the one-story home when Engine 20 arrived, and crews stretched several hoselines as flames spread through the interior of the home. Truck 14 was assigned to ventilate the roof allowing interior crews to bring the fire under control.

Pleasantdale, NY, April 19, 2019—Firefighters from Pleasantdale were dispatched to a reported porch on fire at a residence. Crews found that the fire had spread to the interior of the home and a second alarm was called bringing additional firefighting resources from Melrose, Speigletown and Waterford. As conditions deteriorated, crews transitioned to a defensive attack to contain the fire.

Bradford City, PA, April 3, 2019—Crews dispatched to alarms sounding in a building in Bradford’s downtown historical district encountered heavy black smoke from a tanning salon on the first floor. Crews discovered fire on the second floor of the three-story building, with apartments on the top two floors. Firefighters from Pennsylvania (Bradford City and Kane) and New York (Salamanca and Olean) were summoned to the scene and aerial ladders were used to extinguish the fire.
