“UFC versus NFPA 25”
Basic – Bernie Arends
The Federal government has adopted a program for all of its Department of Defense property facilities called the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). The objective of the UFC is to streamline the military criteria system by eliminating duplication of information, increasing reliance on private-sector standards, and creating a more efficient development and publishing process. However, some contractors who are responsible for Fire and Life Safety system service and inspections are finding a lack of consistency with industry best practices and the inspection, testing and maintenance requirements found in NFPA 25. The discussion will focus on how to resolve these issues and address the contractor's concerns.
