Philadelphia House Fire Leaves One Dead, One Hurt

Philadelphia firefighters found heavy fire showing from both levels of the house.

A house fire in Philadelphia Friday afternoon left one person dead and another injured.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire showing from both levels, Acting Executive Chief Daniel McCarty told WPVI.

"The primary house is pretty much destroyed. We have L&I out here assessing the other dwellings," he said.

One person was transported to a hospital while the other was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause remains under investigation.
