A house fire in Irondequoit just before midnight Wednesday claimed one life and left another person in serious condition.
Heavy fire was showing from the Cape Cod house when Point Pleasant firefighters arrived, Assistant Chief Kyle Viccaro told Democrat & Chronicle reporters.
Crews rescued a person from a bedroom and transported to a local hospital. He sustained life-threatening injuries, the chief said.
Another person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
