A four-alarm fire tore through an apartment building in New Jersey late Tuesday, injuring several residents. The fire broke out just before 10:30 p.m. on the first floor of the apartment building on Broadway in Bayonne.
WABC 7 Eyewitness News reports that several residents were pulled from the burning building, including one from a third-floor window.
They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One resident told WABC 7 that she "saw the flames shooting up over the roof of one of the buildings."
It reportedly took hours for firefighters to get the blaze under control.
Officials said 19 people from nine families were displaced, and the Red Cross was aiding the victims.
The cause remains under investigation.
