Historic Macon County, TN, Hotel Destroyed by Fire

Red Boiling Springs firefighters encountered heavy fire was coming from the side of the historic Donoho hotel Tuesday morning.

While the investigation continues, the fire in the 1914 building is believed to have started in a second-floor electric equipment room. 

“Our firefighters worked tirelessly under challenging conditions. We are grateful for the assistance of neighboring departments and for the community’s support during this difficult time, Fire Chief Randall Bray told WKRN.

It white-frame hotel with full-length two-story porches is considered one of the largest tourist attractions in Macon County.
