FFs Save OH Teen with Autism Disorder from Apartment Fire

Truro Township firefighters rescued the 15-year-old Reynoldsburg boy from the burning building's second floor Sunday night.

Firefighters rescued a 15-year-old boy from the second floor of a burning apartment unit in Reynoldsburg on Sunday night.

The boy, whose condition was unavailable, was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital. WTTE-TV in Columbus, OH, reports that the boy had an autism disorder.

The Truro Township Fire Department was called just before 7 p.m. to the apartment in the 6500 block of East Livingston Avenue.

It is believed the fire started in the first floor and spread throughout the unit, said Mike Dorsey, battalion chief for Truro Township.

There were others in the unit when the fire started who escaped without injury, Dorsey said.

Truro Township Fire is investigating the fire's cause.
