Six Baltimore City firefighters were hurt battling a two-alarm fire in a house's basement Wednesday morning, according to the department.
None of the firefighters suffered life-threatening injuries, and they were taken to the hospital with burns, the department said. One firefighter had second-degree burns.
A call about the fire in East Baltimore came in just after 8 a.m., the Baltimore Sun reports. One person who was inside the burning was able to escape, and smoke damaged a neighboring house.
The firefighters were burned as they entered the home, according to the Sun. Their burns were on their hands, face and arms.
