PA Firefighter Breaks Leg in Burning Building Fall

The Gordonville firefighter underwent surgery for a broken femur after falling around 20 feet while ventilating a building that caught fire over the weekend.

A Pennsylvania firefighter broke a leg after falling from the roof of a burning building over the weekend.

Gordonville Fire crews responded to a building blaze shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday in Leacock Township, the fire company said in a statement. While ventilating the structure, a firefighter fell off the roof about 20 feet to the ground.

The firefighter was taken to Lancaster General Hospital and underwent surgery for a broken femur, according to the fire company. The firefighter's currently recovering.
