GA Firefighter Breaks Leg During House Blaze

A firefighter was injured after falling on debris battling a house blaze that started when flames from a brush fire spread to the attic and garage of a nearby Stone Mountain residence.

A Georgia firefighter suffered a broken leg during a house blaze early Monday.

Crews originally responded to a brush fire in Stone Mountain in Dekalb County, WXIA-TV reports. Flames then spread to a nearby house's attic and garage, as well as an adjacent structure.

While battling the blaze, a firefighter broke a leg after falling on debris. The injury sent the first responder to the hospital.

A family was inside the house at the time of the fire. They were able to safely escape the flames, WXIA added.
