Nearly 140 FDNY Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Blaze

At least seven people were injured in a three-alarm fire that broke out on the fifth floor of a Manhattan apartment building Thursday.

FDNY crews—33 units and 138 firefighters—arrived at the West 101st Street building just before 4 p.m., the West Side Rag reports. The blaze started on the building's fifth floor and spread to the sixth and seventh floors.

At least two FDNY firefighters and five civilians were injured. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening.

Firefighters had the blaze under control shortly before 5:25 p.m.
