Watch as Seattle firefighters arrive at an apartment building fire that was sparked by fireworks that landed in brush.

Seattle fire officials said fireworks sparked a brush fire that damaged an apartment building in the Gatewood neighborhood Saturday evening.

The fire started in brush outside the four-story building at California Avenue SW and SW Myrtle Street around 6 p.m., according to king5.com.

"I was in the bottom apartment. My son comes running and says 'mommy there's smoke outside' and I said it's probably somebody barbequing for the Fourth of July and then I noticed that there was a fire outside," a resident told the television station. "My apartment got affected and my neighbors, but the good thing is that we all safe and everybody got out on time."

Fireworks that sparked the fire in the brush is what led to the blaze that caused $100,000 in damage.
