Two WI Firefighters Injured in Commercial Blaze

Crews from multiple fire departments responded to a large blaze that erupted at the Kaylee Products facility in Chilton that took nearly four hours to extinguish.

Two Wisconsin firefighters were injured battling a commercial blaze that had multiple departments responding Wednesday.

The fire broke out at around 1:30 p.m. at the Kaylee Products facility in Chilton, the Chilton Fire Department stated in an online update. When crews reached the scene, they found the flames contained to the facility's manufacturing process equipment.

One firefighter injured an ankle, and another suffered heat exhaustion, according to the department. Crews from Brillion, Calumet, Harrison, Hilbert, Kiel, New Holstein, Potter and Stockbridge also responded to the incident.

The facility's sprinkler system hepled contain the flames and keep them from spreading. Firefighters stayed at the scene until about 5:15 p.m., the Chilton Fire Department said.
