MA Firefighter Injured Battling 2-Alarm Blaze

Smoke detectors alerted the occupants, and they were able to escape the burning home in Worcester early Thursday.

A two-alarm blaze in Worcester early Thursday morning injured a firefighter and displaced more than 20 residents, news outlets reported.

The fire started at 51 Harlem St. The occupants of the home were able to get out of the building because of the house’s smoke detectors, NECN reported.

A firefighter was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported, the Worcester Fire Department said in a tweet.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to NECN’s report.
