Five CAL FIRE Firefighters Injured in Residential Fire
Five CAL FIRE firefighters and two civilians were injured battling a residential fire early Tuesday.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County crews responded to the structure fire shortly before 2:30 a.m. in Indio, the department stated in social media updates. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames, and the fire was under control just after 3 a.m.
Five firefighters and two civilians were taken to the hospital. Their injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
