A Maryland firefighter was injured in a fall while battling a large house fire early Tuesday.

The fire broke out at an unoccupied Silver Spring house that was being renovated, WJLA-TV reports. Workers at the home blew an electrical fuse, and the flames burned undetected since midnight.

Around Montgomery County firefighters worked for hours to put out the fire.

During the incident, two firefighters fell through the floor, Peter Pringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue, wrote in an online update. One of the firefighters was able to self-rescue, while the other was rested by colleagues and taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
