Jan. 18, 2021
A helmet camera captured Harrisburg firefighters using a ladder to save a person trapped on the second floor of a burning rowhouse as flames shot through first-floor windows.

Harrisburg firefighters rescued one person but found another dead after a Friday afternoon blaze in the 1400 block of North 15th Street.

Fire officials posted on Facebook that units were dispatched 4:15 p.m. for a call of a house fire with entrapment.

One person was seen standing at a second-floor window and was rescued by ladder as flames shot from the first-floor windows of the row home, they said. Firefighters had to deal with heavy smoke to save that person.

They said another occupant of the house was found dead on the first floor.

A video shows thick smoke spewing from the doors and windows of the house.
