Watch CT Firefighters Attack Fast-Moving House Fire
Connecticut firefighters from multiple departments battled a house fire that spread quickly through the residence Friday.
The fire broke out shortly after 8 a.m. at a single-family, colonial-style home in Beacon Falls, according to Beacon Hose Company No. 1. When crews first arrived, they encountered heavy flames coming from the home, and more help was called in from additional departments.
Video footage from the department showed firefighters quickly setting up hoselines and attacking the fire. Crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down in about 20 minutes, with the added firefighters staying on to handle hot spots and a complete overhaul.
“The guys did a great job knocking it down and getting it out real quick,” Beacon Fire Chief Brian DeGeorge told Citizen's News.
Two residents who were home at the time of the fire were able to safely escape, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
