Firefighters fought a well-involved commercial building fire in Beckley involving an indoor U-Haul storage facility. The fire was reported Wednesday afternoon, bringing firefighters from both Beckley and Beaver fire departments.
Firefighters set up defensive operations using handlines and aerial devices to battle the blaze, and strong winds made suppression efforts more challenging.
Beckley Fire Captain Ernest Parsons told WVNS 59News, "nobody was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries occurred." Parsons also confirmed some storage units within the building were impacted.
