Woman Killed, Two Rescued in NJ Dwelling Fire
A woman was killed and two other adults were rescued when a fire broke out in a house in Cranford on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
A neighbor attempted to help two people trapped on the second floor of the home on Beech Street before firefighters arrived and completed the rescue, Cranford police Capt. Ed Davenport said.
No first responders were injured fighting the fire, which broke out around 7 a.m.
The identity of the woman who died will be released after family notifications are complete, authorities said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
