Firefighters battled flames that destroyed a single-family home in Brick Township.

Firefighters battled a well-involved dwelling in Brick after police received multiple calls of a fire on the 170 block of Walnut Drive on Monday afternoon.

Units from Herbertsville were first on-scene and found a single-family home with heavy fire conditions throughout the structure, according to Jersey Shore Online.

Multiple master stream devices and handlines were needed to gain control of the fire and protect exposures.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Brick Township Police Department and the Fire Bureau.
