Tankers were needed as fire engulfed a Three Brothers Wineries and Estates building in Geneva that destroyed historic memorabilia.

A winery in the Finger Lakes region has been devastated by a fire.

FL1 News reports firefighters from Varick, Romulus, Ovid, Fayette, Border City, Oaks Corners, Lodi, Interlaken, Canoga, and Waterloo responded to a blaze at the Bagg Dare Wine Company building located at Three Brothers Wineries and Estates in Geneva, N.Y., shortly after 6 p.m. Monday. The Ovid Fire Department said Bagg Dare, located at the back of the property, was fully engulfed in flames and tanker trucks were called in to bring water to help put out the fire.

The building was a total loss. No injuries were reported.

“As you may have heard, we had a fire this evening at Three Brothers Wineries and Estates in our beloved Bagg Dare Wine Company,” Three Brothers Wineries and Estates wrote on Facebook. “Thankfully, no one was hurt and no one was in the building at the time. We are heartbroken at the destruction of the famed structure, its history and the authentic memorabilia inside, but we are grateful to the local fire department and all others who arrived so quickly to help. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as we work through this.”

According to the Ovid Fire Department, the fire remains under investigation. F1 News reports firefighters remained on the scene for hours and the blaze could be seen from a significant distance.

Three Brothers, also home to War Horse Brewing Co., Iron Heart Cafe, Passion Feet Barn and the Stony Lonesome Wine Cellars, said it would be closed as usual Tuesday and Wednesday. Updates will be provided when available, its Facebook page said.
