MA Crews Battle Back-to-Back House Fires
SPRINGFIELD - A home on Groveland Street was heavily damaged and three residents displaced in an overnight fire, according to the city Fire Department.
No one was injured in the 2:40 a.m. fire, but the home sustained significant damage to the upper floors and roof.
The cause is unknown and being investigated by the city Arson and Bomb Squad.
While firefighters were still on scene, another fire was reported at 27 Alden St. in Upper Hill at around 5 a.m.
That fire was knocked down before it could cause significant damage, but two people were displaced.
