Fire spread to four homes in East Orange early Wednesday morning.
Officials believe the fire started in an abandoned house and quickly spread, ABC7 reported.
Firefighters quickly requested additional resources and the incident went to three alarms.
Residents in the occupied homes managed to flee. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters remain at the scene.
