Fire Hits Two Commercial Buildings in KY

One commercial building was destroyed, another was damaged by a two-alarm fire near downtown Louisville Monday morning.

Louisville firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in multiple large vacant commercial buildings Monday morning at 14th Street and West Broadway.

Firefighters arrived at a large three-story vacant commercial building to find heavy fire and smoke showing and quickly deployed exposure lines to protect surrounding property and established defensive operations on the main fire building.

The fire quickly grew and spread to a five-story vacant warehouse next door to the west, WHAS 11 reported.

The main fire building is a total loss and the second building sustained damaged but was saved.

The response brought 13 apparatus and over 60 firefighters to fight the blaze.
