Firefighters in Bloomington battled a fast-moving fire that spread throughout a home causing extensive damage Monday morning.
On arrival, crews encountered flames from the front and side of a large dwelling in the 700 block of Bell Street.
Due to the conditions found on arrival, the first unit upgraded the incident to a box alarm, calling additional units from Bloomington and a battalion chief and engine from Normal Fire, according to a Facebook post by the City of Bloomington Fire Department.
Crews initiated interior operations and were able to knock down the bulk of fire in 20 minutes of arrival.
Firefighters worked for the next few hours controlling spot fires throughout the four separate units in the dwelling.
