TX Firefighter Airlifted after being Overrun at Brush Fire
Three Sinton firefighters were injured, one airlifted to a San Antonio hospital, while battling a 385 acre brush fire southwest of Sinton on Tuesday.
While the firefighters were operating at the brush fire, the crew became trapped in the blaze which overran their position and destroyed their vehicle, San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera posted to Facebook.
On Wednesday morning, the Sinton Fire Department posted on their Facebook page, “both of our firefighters were held overnight for observation, are in good health and expected to be released today to return home. Thank you all for thoughts, prayers and support.”
The brush fire near Sinton was one of a few brush fires in the area that kept local firefighters busy.
