Watch: Phoenix FFs Battle Blaze at Sushi Restaurant

March 25, 2022
Phoenix firefighters controlled the early-morning fire from a defensive position by using ladder trucks.

Phoenix firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out early this morning at a local sushi restaurant.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the fire broke out just after 2:30 a.m. at JC Sushi & Chinese, located near Interstate 17 and Bell Road.

Firefighters controlled the fire from a defensive position by using ladder trucks.

A Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson told Fox10 ."It's pretty difficult especially due to the fact that it has a tile roof that is largely still intact, so we did have a partial roof collapse, but due to the fact that that's going to shed a lot of the water, just takes time with something like this to fully get it extinguished."

The Phoenix Fire Department tweeted that firefighters had extinguished the defensive first alarm fire near the I-17 and Bell Rd in Phoenix.

The cause of the fire is uncertain at this time and investigators are on the scene to conduct their investigation.
