IL FFs Battle Two Major Fires Blocks Apart

The Chicago Fire Department battled two overnight fires one believed to be arson that left seventeen people homeless.

Chicago firefighters battle two residential fires blocks from each other leaving at least seventeen people homeless with investigators suspecting arson at one of the fires.

The two fires took place within an hour of each other the first fire starting around 9:00 p.m. near 45th and Wood Street, fire officials believe this fire may have been started with accelerant and are investigating it as an arson fire, according to CBS2 News Chicago.

The second fire started around 9:45 p.m., at 43rd and Honore Street and rose to two-alarms damaging three homes and one vehicle. The Chicago Fire Department officials tweeted no firefighters of civilians were injured at this incident.
