GA Apartment Fire Displaces 43

The Cobb County Fire Department responded to the fire that consumed an apartment building near Six Flags Over Georgia early Tuesday.

Jun. 9—A fire which consumed an apartment building near Six Flags Over Georgia early Tuesday morning has displaced some 43 residents, the Cobb County Fire Department said.

Just after 1 a.m., more than a dozen fire units responded to the Premier Apartments complex on Westwood Place. While firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control, six apartment units suffered fire and water damage, the department said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
