AZ Firefighters Launch 'Close Before You Doze' Campaign

Mesa firefighters are educating citizens on closing bedroom doors to buy time in the event of a fire.

The Mesa Fire Department has launched a "Close Before You Doze" campaign to educate citizens on the value of closing their bedroom doors before sleep to buy time in the event of fire.

"That door buys us time in the case that we have something going on," said Deputy Mesa Fire Chief Forrest Smith, who took ABC15 through a simulation at the department's training facility.
