Three More NY Firefighters Injured in House Fire

Five more Buffalo firefighters were hurt battling fires in a 24-hour span, bringing the total to 20 department members injured in the past week.

Three more Buffalo firefighters were hurt in the line of duty Monday. That makes five Buffalo firefighters hurt in 24 hours and 20 since last week.

The latest incident happened during a house fire in the Walden-Bailey neighborhood, WGRZ-TV reports. One person was able to escape the fast-moving blaze, which ignited in the house's attic.

The hurt firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, according to WGRZ. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On Sunday, two Buffalo firefighters were injured battling a two-alarm house fire. Last week, the department saw 15 firefighters hurt tackling three different residential fires over 24 hours.
