FDNY crews battled a fifth-story apartment blaze in the Lenox Hill section of upper Manhattan that injured four firefighters on Christmas Day.

CBS News reports that firefighters were dispatched to the five-story Upper East Side apartment building just after noon and were hindered during operations by one of the apartments being filled with clutter.

"Picture an apartment filled with debris to your waist level. You can understand how that would be difficult getting into a doorway or even moving," FDNY Deputy Chief Fred Schaaf told CBS News.

Fire officials said 140 firefighters responded to the blaze, which started in a fifth-floor unit, extended into the attic and then through the roof of the building.

The four firefighters who were hurt suffered minor injuries, and luckily no civilians were injured.
