FFs, TN Army National Guard Train for Water Rescues by Air

Hovering above the Stones River, firefighters from the Nashville Fire Department's Special Ops division and members of the Tennessee Army Guard participate in joint helicopter aquatic rescue training.

Video footage posted to the fire department's Facebook page shows these first responders descending via ropes from a helicopter and making a simulated save in the water below. These exercises allow them to practice rescuing would-be victims in water emergencies involving lakes, rivers and flooded areas that need to be reached by air.
