A New Jersey firefighter was injured in a five-alarm blaze that burned through five residential buildings Sunday.
The fire broke out at a multi-family home in Paterson shortly before 2:30 p.m., WABC-TV reports. Flames spread to other homes, collapsing one structure, according to NorthJersey.com.
Construction workers were in the collapsing building at the time of the fire, but they were able to safely escape. A firefighter was taken to the hospital after suffering heat exhaustion.
The blaze displaced 27 people, NorthJersey.com added.
