A St. Louis firefighter was injured during a fatal house blaze late Thursday.

The blaze broke out before 11:30 p.m. in the city's Baden neighborhood, KSDK-TV reports. Flames gutted the home, and the heat so intense that it damaged a house across the street.

A firefighter suffered a leg injury when a hose connector snapped and struck him. He was taken to the hospital, and Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson told KSDK that he will recover.

Crews found one person dead inside the house after they extinguished the fire, which investigators believe might have been intentionally set, KSDKI added.
