Los Angeles County firefighters battled an attic blaze the broke out a historic home Tuesday.
Reports of a fire at the two-story home in Whittier came in at about 8:30 p.m., OnScene TV reports. When crews arrived, they encountered flames coming from the home's roof, and firefighters were able to evacuate the residence.
Crews put out the blaze at the home, which was built in 1915. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
