CA Firefighter Injured in 5-Alarm Structure Blaze

Crews from four fire departments battled a massive blaze that broke out in a Wholesome Nut Company warehouse in Modesto and spread to two nearby buildings.

A California firefighter was injured during a five-alarm blaze that tore through three structures Sunday.

The fire broke out at a Wholesome Nut Company warehouse in Modesto, KOVR-TV reports. The blaze grew and spread to two neighboring buildings.

Crews from Ceres, Modesto and Denair fire departments, as well as Stainslaus Consolidated Fire Protection District, responded to the call. They stayed at the scene into the night to deal with hot spots.

A firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was taken to the hospital. The firefighter was later released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
