FDNY Firefighter Seriously Injured in Queens Fire

A fire that broke out in a residential building in the Ridgewood neighborhood injured two FDNY firefighters—one seriously—and two civilians.

An FDNY firefighter was seriously injured during a house fire in Queens on Tuesday.

The fire broke out just before 7 p.m. at a home in the Ridgewood neighborhood, WPIX-TV reports. Officials believe that the flames were ignited on the second floor of the two-story structure.

One firefighter was seriously injured battling the fire, but those injuries weren't considered life-threatening. Another firefighter and two civilians also suffered minor injuries in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
