TN Firefighter Injured Tackling Auto Shop Fire

Intense heavy flames and smoke forced crews to take a defensive attack when they responded to a fire at an AutoZone shop in Lawrenceburg that sent a firefighter to the hospital.

A Tennessee firefighter was sent to the hospital after being injured battling a commercial fire early Tuesday.

The fire broke out at about 1 a.m. at the AutoZone retail shop in Lawrenceburg, WKRN-TV reports. When crews reached the scene, they encountered heavy flames and smoke that was so intense it kept them outside in a defensive approach to the fire.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries during the call and was taken to the hospital. No further details were released concerning how the injury happened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
