March 29, 2022
Shelton firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire that left three families homeless on Monday afternoon.

A two-alarm fire in Shelton has left three families homeless after a fire damaged their residence.

Shelton firefighters were called to the fire around 3:15 p.m. and arrived at heavy fire conditions on the third-floor porch of a two-and-a-half story multi-family structure.

“An attack hose was stretched off Engine 2 to the side entrance to gain access to the fire,” Deputy Fire Chief Paul Wilson said. “Due to the high winds, the fire had extended into the third floor living area, attic space and knee walls, the Shelton Herald reported.

After the initial body of fire was knocked down, firefighters completed searches, extinguished hot spots and conducted overhaul operations.

Due to the fire and water damage, the house was unusable according to fire officials.
