An early morning fire in Chinatown has killed two people and injured several more, including two members of the FDNY.

Two people were killed and several more injured, including two members of the FDNY, when an early morning fire broke out in an apartment building in Chinatown.

CBS New York reported that more than 100 firefighters responded to the blaze that started just before 4 a.m. on Mulberry Street. 

Deputy Assistant Chief John Sarrocco told News 4 New York that firefighters encountered heavy flames on the fifth floor.

Two people were found dead in an apartment.

Four other civilians were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, as were two firefighters. One of the firefighters partially fell through a collapsed staircase, officials said.
