A man and a woman were killed when their small plane crashed onto a Hanna City street Saturday.
Business owner Ron Gulley told the Peoria Journal Star that he saw the plane skid by his window and then strike a supper club.
Witnesses said they heard the plane sputtering over another business before it crashed around 12:30 p.m.
"It was just a mess," Gulley said.
Coroner Jamie Harwood said the man was conscious when first responders arrived on scene.
Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed to the Star Journal that the plane was a single engine Mooney M20K.
